To read about past trips, please select a date on the left.

Visit this site to learn about the adventures of a bunch of rednecks devoted to canoeing the rivers, swamps, and sloughs of the area. You will meet those who view trips as a fun undertaking rather than a demonstration of paddling skills. You will not find a political agenda. The group includes some tree huggers and others who hold Rachel Carson responsible for many thousands of African malaria deaths. There is wide range of humanity represented. Those who would save the world are welcomed but that is not the point of the group.

Trips For 2013

The Fellow Travelers plans for 2013 are still unsettled.

There will likely be a three-day trip sometime in late March or early April.

A Buffalo River trip is in the works.  It will be planned by Keith Webb and Charlie Stines.  The date is uncertain.  It is a long drive to Arkansas but the river is worth the trip.

The Memorial Day weekend trip always conflicts with the Florida Folk Festival at White Springs.  The King would like input as to scheduling the trip some other weekend.

There should be a three-day trip in early September, but the dates and destination have not been set.  Send any suggestions.  The Escatawpa in Alabama is a possibility.

The Okefenokee trip in October will depend on which trails are available at the time.  It will be limited to ten persons.

There will be a Thanksgiving weekend trip in November.  It would be nice to do it somewhere other than the Suwannee.
